A season that was eagerly awaited, after almost two years of forced stop: the mountains of Lombardy presented the winter program, which promises to be full of events.

“With 27 ski areas, 310 ski lifts and 2 thousand 700 ski instructors, Lombardy’s offer will be able to attract sportsmen and women alike for a holiday that has all the credentials to satisfy the needs of distance and life in the air open emerged during this period ”. Lara Magoni, Councilor for Tourism, Territorial Marketing and Fashion of the Lombardy region, together with the President of the Region Attilio Fontana, presents a proposal that is expected to obtain excellent results. “A proposal – continues Magoni – that alongside the sporting aspect also includes ample opportunities for recreation related to well-being, culture with the 19 Unesco sites present in the area and food and wine. Of course, the terrorism towards the winter holidays that is gaining momentum does not help, but I am optimistic and I foresee a positive season ”.

The hope is to gradually return to pre-Covid numbers, when the Region was moving at the rate of 43 million visitors a year for a billion euros of related activities, to which the sale of ski passes contributed about 80 million euros. . “The mountains, a sector that employs over 60,000 people, also guarantee a longer average stay, equal to at least 4 days, compared to other forms of tourism. And to support growth, the Region has allocated 25 million euros for the restructuring of accommodation facilities “. All signs that indicate the need for a lasting restart: “Stop to closures and refreshments, it is necessary to go back to work” concludes Magoni.

Hope shared by all the representatives of the local realities present, by Francesco Mariani, sales & marketing manager of Visit Bergamo in Graziano Pennacchio, a.d. by Visit Brescia; from Fabio Dadati, president of Lariofiere to Roberto Galli, president of Valtellina Turismo, up to Manuel Pozzoni, marketing manager of Valtellina Turismo.
And to encourage the upcoming season, from 1 to 24 December the ski pass for children under 16 will be free and ski lessons can be taken at the symbolic cost of 5 euros.
